We are born into a body - skin wrapped around bones and muscles, making up our limbs which are designed to perform activities. We live in this body every single day of our lives. While our mind is boundless and constantly evolving as we experience the world, interact with the people in it and gain knowledge, our physical body can only transform so much, and very little in comparison to the mind - it is ultimately a restricted corporeal bundle of cells. The body can be inadequate in revealing one's true thoughts, emotions and personality. We can never truly know how someone is feeling or what they are thinking since there is no accurate visual presentation of this. In this way, the body becomes simply a wrapping and a vessel for what really forms our identity. The mind which allows us to think, feel, desire and hurt is seemingly intangible, and is trapped inside our very tangible bodies. This artwork shows the human body in everyday situations, covered in an extra layer of restrictive wrapping to draw attention to the one that already exists - the body that encompasses each individual's magnificent and ever-changing mind.
