ACCIDENTAL AESTHETICS

My artwork explores ‘line in space’ in terms of shadows and the striking designs that light can accidentally create. Confined to the space of my house during this time, I see it soaked in ever changing shadow patterns over the course of the day. Whether the shadows are projecting onto another object, rotating around the room, sliding down a wall or fading to nothing as the sun disappears, this photo series shows my house and everyday objects, not for the function we know them to hold, but instead, for their ability to create accidental, ephemeral and dramatically aesthetic shadows.
